Hello to
all !!
In this
post we will build a "rain stick" that will serve as an instrument. With
this, our intention is that people with autism work socialization,
communication and imagination.
The
materials that we need are:
- Rice
- 5 cones of toilet paper
- Packing Tape
- Toothpicks
- Nail clippers
- A small piece of thin cardboard
- Universal Glue
- Scissors
- Paints and brush
- Wool Needle
DO YOU HAVE
EVERYTHING? SO LET'S START
1. Stick with the packing tape all the
cones, making sure that are straight.
2. Cross the cones around with
toothpicks, to open the holes, use a wool needle.
3. Cut the tips of the toothpicks with
the clippers.
4. Stand on each toothpick some
universal glue.
5. Draw a circle on the thin cardboard
that has the diameter of the cone. Then draw a margin of 1cm approx. and makes
several cuts along the outline. Repeat this step 2 times.
6. Stick the cardboard at the end of
the cone.
7. Put the rice inside the cone and then
cover the other extreme.
8. Now it's time to decorate. Paint it
at the way you like.
Enjoy it!
Remember that it's very simple to make and it serves to have a fun time together.
I'm learning to be a teacher and i've just done a work about autism at university, and I think the rain stick is a great and useful thing to use with children who have autism. Thanks for the instructions to make it! I'll use it in the near future :)

EliminarUuuuuuo!!! What an interesting instrument!! As Leire said, we had just hand in a paper about autims and to make instrument by our own way is a very good idea and much more, if it is to work with people with autims. I like it so much :)
